Update 2025-2026
The full course videos of PowerPoint slides can be streamed by anyone, anytime from the u3a website. For those registering, interactive Zoom sessions are offered every week about the latest research news, including news videos of launches etc., and course queries. The day/time is selected by agreement, BUT it only runs if I get enough sustainable interest. The course topics cover historical astronomy, the solar system, planetary physics, how we discover planets around other stars and their atmospheres, 5000 so far, the search for life elsewhere, why the Earth is special, Atomic physics, Particle physics, the quantum world, the trillions of galaxies, Relativity and Cosmology. It includes models of the universe and our existence within it. Those who attend regularly are often keen to do so again. Many find that they look at our universe in a completely new way..
If anyone is interested who hasn’t attended, please look at the course and contact me.
In September, a lightning strike killed the modem, computers, hard drives and much else, delaying the possibility of Zoom sessions. As of November, this is now fixed. There are sufficient interested students for Zoom sessions, but I travel abroad a lot, so they will not be every week. Please email me about dates and times,
