Social Debate
We meet on the 4th Wednesday from 14.00-16.00.
Venue: Church Meadow Court Retirement Housing, Graham Road, Malvern WR14 2JT.
(Inactive during: (Sometimes) December).
The meeting fee is £2.50, and includes a beverage and cake.
We have evolved into a friendly group of lively, intelligent Seekers-of-Truth and Chewers-of-Fat who relish discussing topics across the social spectrum from truly shocking to fearlessly mundane. We raise and discuss the questions to which charladies, governments, universities and occasionally, world leaders should find answers. Members who have done some prior research into the day's subjects, and are able to cast some factual light upon the topic, are able to speak for any reasonable length of time. When members are unable to add to the group's collective knowledge, but understandably wish to add their personal opinion then we expect less time would be taken to present personal ideas and opinions. No voting takes place. The discussions are lively, thought-provoking and good humoured. The relaxed social gathering at tea-time is most enjoyable (biscuits are good, company is great). Members usually leave the meeting smiling. The group is relatively small and informal in a cosy venue.
Please contact Lis, on her email, to find out if there are arm-chair spaces available.
