Social History
We meet on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday from 10.00-12.00.
Venue: Malvern Victoria Bowling Club, Victoria Park, Malvern Link WR14 2JY.
(Inactive during: July, August).
We study the historical development of a particular society, chosen by members of the group. Each topic involves a series of lectures and may take up to a year or eighteen months to complete. However all lectures are self-contained with each session lasting 2 hours with a break for coffee and finishing with an open discussion. We have now completing studying The Histories That No One Knows. The following notes are now available: Crusades Cyprus Korea Poland Prussia Scandinavia Silk Roads Switzerland .
Next year we will be studying British Social History 14th to 19th century. The group has increased over the years and now amounts to 50 or 60 regular members. Here are some YouTube videos which may interest:
