Solos Group Summary

Established in September 2021, Solos is a social group for people living alone, offering companionship and a range of activities to promote positive ~ ageing and wellbeing.
What do we offer:
 
Monthly meet-ups:
  • A ‘meet and greet’ welcomes members into our lively sociable group.
  • Includes updates on events, and social time over coffee and biscuits.
 
Informal coffee mornings at the Theatre Café on the 1st Wednesday and 3rd Friday of each month. (10.00-11.30am). All members welcome.
 
Monthly walks: A gentle walk with optional lunch.
 
 
Key Events:
  • Guided walks & pub lunches
  • Skittles evenings with a fish & chip supper.
  • Sunday roast lunches
  • Guest speakers with tea and cakes
  •  Local tours and summer garden visits
  •  Restaurant meals at local venues
With over 40 attendees at our monthly sessions, at times we need to limit to membership to accommodate our space and bookings.
Solos fosters connections among members who often organise their own activities independently.

18th Wednesday    Afternoon  speaker – Malvern’s Radar and Technology History Society at Manor Park, 2.00pm  £5pp on the door

Please note the following adjustment to upcoming meet-up dates

  • April Meet-Up – Saturday 11th April – (reschedule from 4th April due to Easter)

APRIL – booking from the 1st March 

11th Saturday        ​Monthly Meet Up and Coffee at Manor Park WR14 2TL –  10am start - £2 charge   NB 2nd Saturday due to Easter

17th Friday​            Evening playing Skittles with a Fish ‘n chips supper @ Barnards Green Cricket Club, WR14 2ET. Arrive 7.00pm for 7.15pm start with appropriate footwear. Cost: £20 for skittles & fish ’n chips. Skittles only - £10 Booking and payment in advance please.

18th Saturday​        Sybil’s Walk & pub lunch – information about this walk will be circulated to all members by email.

26th Sunday.         ​Roast Lunch at The Bank House, Bransford Arrive 12.30pm for 1.00pm. Pre-orders in advance at the March meet up.

MAY - Booking from the 1st April

2nd Saturday​         Monthly Meet Up and Coffee at Manor Park WR14 2TL – 10am start - £2 charge

8th Friday              Visit to Madresfield Court - price £22 including House and Garden Tour & refreshments. Start at 2.30pm

16th Saturday​        Sybil’s Walk & pub lunch – information about this walk will be circulated to all members by email.

29th Friday​             Curry Night – Ghurkha Chef Restaurant, Graham Road WR14 2HL. Order on the night. Meet 6.30pm for 7.00pm.
