Solos

We meet on the 1st Saturday from 10.00-12.00.

Venue: Manor Park Sports Club, Albert Rd North, Malvern, WR14 2TL.

(Inactive during: None).

Solos was established in September 2021 as a social space exclusively for people living alone, offering companionship and a variety of social activities. 

We meet downstairs in the Vaughan room. A charge of £2 for the room booking is payable at the meeting.

The first part of our monthly sessions focuses on social events where we'll share feedback from recent activities and provide details of what's coming up on the month ahead. Afterwards, we'll enjoy coffee and biscuits together upstairs in the bar area.

We also have informal coffee mornings on the 1st Wednesday and 3rd Friday of every month. Members are welcome to drop in for a coffee at the Malvern Theatre Cafe from 10.00am to 11,30am.

Additionally, we offer two types of monthly walks: one on gentle terrain with an optional lunch, and another for those who prefer a more challenging walk on the hills.

We are a dynamic friendly group ageing-positively, with a feeling of wellbeing bringing people together.

A happy side effect to our Solos friendly group is that members organise activities amongst themselves – the group is working well in this regard.

We have become a large group, forty plus attend monthly sessions. There are times when we need to limit membership to ensure we can fit into the room space.

8th Sunday -          Monthly MEET UP and Coffee at Manor Park WR14 2TL – 10am start – £2 room charge – FREE COFFEE or TEA to  celebrate our THIRD ANNIVERSARY. Donations of cakes would be welcome.  Please note Sunday not Saturday

20th Friday  -          Visit to Elgar’s Birthplace Museum  (WR2 6RH) with Intro talk and self-guided tour, meet at 10.45 for tour starting at 11.00am. Entry fee £9.50 or FREE to NT members. This will be followed by a pub lunch at THE BELL @ BROADHEATH at 1.00pm (WR2 6QJ). Two course meal available for £13.95. Come for the meal only if you prefer. Pre-order food required.

25th Wednesday -  Our last evening meal of the season at The Great Malvern Hotel  6.00 for 6.30pm

28th Saturday -       INSTEAD of the OCTOBER Monthly Meet Up and Coffee at Manor Park WR14 2TL – 10am start – £2 room charge - taking Bookings for CHRISTMAS

27th Sunday -          NEW VENUE – starting our Sunday Roast Lunches. The Wellington Inn, WR13 6HW - 1.00 for 1.15pm.

13th Wednesday     BINGO afternoon in the bar at Manor Park WR14 2TL starting at 2.00pm.  £10 for two games, CASH PRIZES for 1line, 2 lines and a full house.

2nd Monday  -  Visit to National Trust HANBURY HALL, WR9 7EA – meet inside at 11.00am for a nostalgic retro 70’s & 80’s Christmas exhibition. There is a cafe on site for those who wish to stay, alternatively we have booked a table for a Cavery Lunch nearby at The Eagle & Sun pub @ 1.15pm if you are interested - you need to reserve a place when signing up

7th Saturday  -        SOLOS FESTIVE PARTY at Manor Park WR14 2TL, with buffet and entertainment - noon start.

14th Saturday  -      CHRISTMAS LUNCH at the Worcestershire Golf Club (Malvern) WR14 4PP.
