The aim of the group is to play chess in a friendly environment and learn more about the game as we progress.
We have 8-12 members with a range of experience and ability, usually with at least 6 attending.
All playing levels are welcome, but beginners need to know the rules and have some experience of playing the game.
The rules are widely available, for example: Rules of Chess. Several members of the group also play on CHESS.COM. With these, beginners can easily start playing and develop confidence at their own rate.
